This week, when one door closes, two more open – at least in Lubbock’s business community.
On March 19, the owners of 1000 Degrees Pizza on Indiana Avenue announced that the restaurant would close permanently. The business stated they would be open while supplies last, then close by the end of March. Once closed, there will be no 1000 Degrees Pizza in Lubbock.
Two businesses opened or will open their doors soon. Scooters Coffee, 8101 Indiana Ave., held their grand opening on Friday, March 24. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, will open on Wednesday, March 29.

I also got a first look at an upcoming business entering the Depot Entertainment District. Shotgun Sue’s Saloon plans to bring classic Old Western design to the area. Owners Vince Vasquez and Tim Tremoni described their upcoming saloon as a unique space with western flair and fun flavors.

“I’ve always wanted to do something where I had the freedom to go crazy with drinks,” Tremoni said. “Hopefully, when you open that door, you’ll smell fresh herbs. I want to take you on a little journey with cocktails. We’ll do takes on a lot of old classics, but our drink menu will be completely unique to us.”
