A California law that prohibits doctors from spreading disinformation or misinformation about Covid-19 to their patients is a valid regulation of physician conduct and doesn’t violate physicians’ free speech rights, the state said.
California is calling on the US District Court for the Eastern District of California to deny doctors’ request for a preliminary injunction that would prohibit it from enforcing the law during litigation over its validity. The state said in court papers filed Monday that the plaintiff doctors don’t have standing to bring a pre-enforcement challenge and that they haven’t shown they’ll be harmed by the law’s enforcement. …
