Detect has recalled some of its COVID-19 test kits because they may provide a false negative result.
More than 11,000 Detect brand COVID-19 tests have been recalled because the company said there is an “increased chance” that the test will indicate a false negative result.
The over-the-counter molecular rest is designed to identify the virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, according to a voluntary recall notice with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The company said 11,102 tests were shipped to customers from July 26, 2022, through Aug. 26, 2022.
Detect said, “The reliability of positive test results is not affected.”
